Dog-Friendly Bar Opened In Alexandria
Alex Benbassat and Justin LeGore are opening Barkhaus that is a combination bar and dog park on Saturday. Benbassat and LeGore are former roommates who met while studying at Virginia Tech. After visiting Charlotte, North Carolina, where dog bars have become a popular restaurant concept, the duo decided to bring the idea to Northern Virginia. Alexandria Prepares For Phase 2 Reopening
Northern Virginia will begin entering Phase Two of the Virginia Forward plan June 12. The restaurants and retail operations will be able to resume indoor services under strict COVID-19 guidelines. New Waterfront Features Approved By City Council In Alexandria
The council approved several plans geared toward enhancing the vibrancy of Old Town’s waterfront at its March public hearing. The area has changed significantly since 2012 when the city council approved the waterfront small area plan. The plan incorporated walkways, parks and other public spaces where residents and visitors can enjoy views of the Potomac River. The city council approved special use permits for a new pier for Tall Ship Providence and outdoor music at Riverside Taco at the March 14 public hearing.
